This summer I was lucky to book a fabulous wedding at the Historic Hotel Jerome in Aspen Colorado. The wedding will be with a great family I’ve worked with before from Midland Texas. I’ve shot for them all over, but there will be something truly special about this one.
The bride’s family lives in Aspen and so she is excited to bring in her closest family and friends to let them experience the environment that has been so influential to her life. That’s really what destination weddings are about. So many times as couples or individuals we have experiences that we know our friends would love, and a wedding can be the perfect opportunity to bring everyone into that experience.
Beyond it’s historical roots, which are really something to read about.. built in the 1880’s by a co-owner of Macy’s.. the hotel stands out for it’s prominence in the middle of town but still has a wonderful courtyard that is converted for a ceremony location with a mountain backdrop. The hotel also boasts a classic ballroom with high ceilings and loads of windows. The charm and style of the entire property make it an ideal location for a wedding in Aspen and I can’t wait to shoot there next May.
