The brand new (so new it’s not yet open) Omni PGA Frisco Resort north of Dallas Texas is going to be pretty amazing. The developers have found land in North Texas that looks and feels like the Hill Country. I can’t wait for the full hotel to open, but in the meantime I was lucky to be able to work on a fun styled shoot with a beautiful couple using and showing off the amazing two championship golf courses on property.
The property boasts several spaces both indoor and outdoor to host ceremonies and receptions.. Their website tells us that the property “features our two 18-hole championship golf courses, Fields Ranch East – designed by Gil Hanse – and Fields Ranch West – designed by Beau Welling; The Swing, our lighted 10-hole, par-3 short course; and The Dance Floor, our 2-acre putting course and entertainment area. For golfers and non-golfers alike, sun-up to sundown fun and enjoyment opportunities abound at the PGA District where a variety of signature dining and retail concepts, virtual game experiences and programmed entertainment will serve as the hub for visitors. The resort will feature 500 guest rooms and suites, 10 four-bedroom ranch houses, four pools, including an adults-only rooftop infinity pool, a full-service Mokara Spa, Lounge by Topgolf, and more than 127,000-square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.”
As a wedding photographer that photographs around half of my weddings each year in Dallas, I’m so excited to see this property added to the options of the area. The Junior Ballroom has beautiful lighting fixtures and can be opened to the Event Lawn providing a rare indoor/outdoor flow to North Texas.
The space I’m most excited about is the 5000 sq foot Prather Pavillion. It’s another indoor / outdoor flowing space but with a of a modern barn aesthetic. I love the designs of both of these spaces and I think they fill a pretty big hole in the Dallas wedding venue options.
Check them out and if you are interested in planning a wedding there, I’d love to talk with you about working together to photograph it for you!
