As a photographer, I have had the privilege of capturing many special moments in people’s lives, but Peggy and Matt’s wedding weekend was truly an incredible experience. From the bridal luncheon to the Dallas Museum of Art wedding reception, every event was filled with love, laughter, and joy, and it was an honor to be able to document these meaningful moments for the couple.
The bridal luncheon took place at Mercat Bistro on Friday afternoon, where Peggy’s closest friends and family gathered to celebrate the start of the wedding weekend. The room was filled with sunlight, laughter, and the clinking of champagne glasses, as everyone got excited to celebrate the bride-to-be. It was a beautiful moment to capture!
The rehearsal dinner was equally special, and took place at the George W. Bush Library. The venue was perfect for the occasion, with its grand architecture and beautiful surroundings. As the night progressed, family and friends took turns delivering heartfelt toasts to the happy couple, that provided a wealth of emotional and authentic moments to capture.
Saturday was the big day, and it was filled with moments that will be cherished forever. The morning started with a relaxed and calm atmosphere as Peggy and her bridesmaids lounged around in matching pajamas while the guys got ready at a nearby house. It was the perfect opportunity to capture the excitement and anticipation before the wedding ceremony.
The classic ceremony took place at the Highland Park Presbyterian Church, a stunning and historic church with beautiful stained glass windows and elegant architecture. The ceremony was filled with love and emotion, which made for some incredible photo opportunities. I particularly loved the sequence of images I was able to capture as Peggy and Matt finished their walk down the aisle back out of the church. You can absolutely feel how excited these two were as they left the church.
The modern and beautiful reception was held at the Dallas Museum of Art, a perfect choice for a wedding. The DMA provided a stunning backdrop for the festivities, with its contemporary design and breathtaking art collection. The reception was decorated with elegant white floral that complimented the colorful art on the walls and featured a monogrammed dance floor, which created a stylish and sophisticated atmosphere.
The party was kept rocking by the amazing Emerald City band, who kept the dance floor packed all night long. I love the way Emerald City interacts and engages with the crowd at every wedding. These guys have been one of the top bands forever and it’s pretty clear to see why. The floral and rental designs by Bella Flora were nothing short of stunning, and the production by Fabulous Fete was flawless, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and seamlessly.
Photographing Peggy and Matt’s wedding weekend was an unforgettable experience. From the bridal luncheon to the reception, every moment was filled with love, joy, and beauty, and it was an honor to be able to capture these memories for the couple. The choice of venues, florals, and entertainment were impeccable, and the couple’s love shone through every image I captured. It is days like these that make me grateful to be a photographer and be able to document the start of a new journey for a couple in love.
